"I want to become a dog and do nothing."

Once an ordinary office worker, he slowly grew exhausted by work and adult life. After years of envying the carefree Chihuahua he once owned, he finally decided to stop being human and become a dog instead. That's how Ochiwa was born.

These artworks mark the beginning of Ochiwa. I’ve always been interested in low-poly art, so I decided to create Ochiwa in a low-poly-inspired style. Using 2D illustration techniques, I challenged myself to create a pseudo-3D look inspired by the visual style of Japanese games.

What started as a little joke whenever life or studies became too exhausting slowly became the starting point of this project.
Ochiwa is inspired by the quiet thoughts we have when work or studies feel overwhelming, but we still have to keep going. These are the feelings we often keep to ourselves, so I turned them into a character.

These are some of the merchandise I created for Ochiwa and were sold during my graduation exhibition. Seeing people enjoy and support these products has been one of the most rewarding parts of this project. Creating merchandise also allowed me to explore how an original character can exist across different products while maintaining a consistent visual identity.
